The September issue of Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine announced on Friday that Koichi Tokita and Tomohiro Chiba are working on a new entry in the Gundam Seed Astray spinoffs titled Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray: Tenkū no Princess (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray: Princess of the Sky). The magazine did not specify the format of the new work, but noted that it would run in the magazine.
Previous stories in the Gundam Seed Astray series have taken been told as manga, novels, photo stories, and anime adaptations. The new work will be the 11th work in the Gundam Seed series.
The October issue of the magazine, which Kadokawa will publish on August 26, will explain the details of the new work, including why it uses the Gundam Seeed Astray logo, and the meaning of the title.
Tokita and Chiba launched the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Frame Astrays manga, the last manga in the series, in Gundam Ace in 2007, and ended it in 2008. The entire series itself is a spinoff of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed franchise, which began as a 51-episode television anime series in 2002.
