A trailer for Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (Evangelion Shin Gekijō-ban Q), the third film in Hideaki Anno and Khara’s four-part remake of Gainax’s Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, played on the wall of Tokyo’s Shinjuku Wald 9 theater at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The “EVA-EXTRA 08″ video first played a digest video of the first two films, and ended after the third film’s trailer with the third film’s release date: November 17. Advance tickets with bonus items will go on sale on July 14.
The “Q” or “Kyū” in the third film’s title is a wordplay in Japanese; the first three films’ subtitles are the names for the three classical movements (Jo-Ha-Kyū or Introduction-Exposition-Climax) of traditional Japanese music such as gagaku and Noh.
