Gundam 00 Assistant Director Masaki Kitamura Charged for Massacre Threat: Update Info

 42-year-old anime technical director Masaki Kitamura was charged on Friday with interfering with a public official’s duties after being arrested in August for allegedly writing “I will commit a massacre” on the city’s website. According to the police, the suspect denied the charges, saying, “I’m completely innocent.”

The suspect is accused of going to Osaka’s inquiry page on the Internet and writing, “I will commit a massacre in Otaroad [in Osaka's Nipponbashi area] next Sunday. I will ram into pedestrian paradise, and after stabbing indiscriminately with a knife, I will commit suicide” on July 29 at about 9:45 p.m. “Pedestrian paradise” is the traditional practice of cordoning vehicles off a particular street or streets and limiting the area to foot traffic. 大阪市のホームページに７月、「大量殺人をする」と書き込み市などの業務を妨害したとして、大阪地検は１４日、業務妨害罪で大阪府吹田市、アニメ演出家北村真咲容疑者（４２）を起訴した。大阪府警が８月、威力業務妨害容疑で逮捕していた。

起訴状によると、７月２９日午後９時４５分ごろ、自宅でパソコンを使ってインターネット上の大阪市の相談窓口ページに「（大阪・日本橋の）ヲタロードで大量殺人する」とうその内容を書き込み、メールを送信。市職員と警察官の業務を妨害したとしている。
