Namco Bandai Games announced Gundam Breaker, a new game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems, at Sony’s pre-Tokyo-Game Show press conference on Wednesday. Unlike most previous Gundam games that try to recreate the robot anime itself, this new game will pit plastic models against other plastic models in stages inspired by dioramas.
For example, Namco Bandai Games showed images of a 1/144-scale Gundam RX-78-2 taking on a much larger 1/60 scale Gundam RX-78-2. (The backdrop in this scenario is a diorama of Diver City Tokyo — the real-life home of the life-size Gundam statue.)
