Introducing the ENTRY GRADE 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam [Vintage Color].
March 22-24, 2024 Price: 1,650 yen

This is a limited edition product of “HYPER PLAMO Fes.2024” held at Makuhari Messe from March 22 to 24, 2024.
This is a vintage-style plastic model made with a new material, wood powder-containing plastic.
By blending wood powder made from thinning wood and scraps into part of the runner, the environmental impact is reduced.
This is an upcycled product born from Bandai’s efforts to adopt new materials to replace petroleum-derived plastics.
This is an environmentally friendly Gunpla similar to the previously released LIMEX, eggshell plastic, and tea leaf plastic.

Even the instruction manual is vintage-style.
Not only the text and design but also the paper quality is different.

Sticker.
The design is like a patch, making it a unique and stylish sticker that is unlike Gunpla.

The pale-hued molding gives it a wooden look, even though it’s assembled by snapping it together, and the finish gives it a slightly aged feel.

The mixture gives it a rough appearance, but the plastic surface is smooth.

Perhaps because it contains wood powder, the texture feels a little softer than the usual Plastic.

Close-up.
It is easy to assemble because it uses “snap fit” that does not use adhesives and “touch gate” that allows parts to be removed by hand without using tools.

If it is sold at a general store or cafe that handles American vintage, it may be picked up by a different customer.
Although it is not released in EG, the vintage color would also look good on the Zaku II.
As it contains wood powder, I tried setting some discarded runner on fire, and it ignited with the same force as an ignition agent.
It doesn’t melt, it burns, so make sure you keep it away from fire.

This concludes my review of the “ENTRY GRADE 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Vintage Color.”
