マッドさん’s amazing remodeling work: “Gundam Artifact 5.5 centimeters tall ZZ Movable Modification” many images, full info and credits
Gundam Artifact is a line of model kits by Bandai, based on the mobile suits from the Gundam meta series. The toy line features unassembled Mobile Suits molded in beige, resembling resin-based garage kits. Some boxes contain the kits in rare colors. Each kit stands at 5.5 centimeters tall and includes a packet of soda-flavored gum.
From the Modeler:
I modified the ZZ Gundam from the 5th Gundam Artifact candy toy series to make it movable. The hand parts (gripping hand, flat hand) were also carved out of epoxy putty. I also made the beam part of the beam saber and some of the decals myself.
The painting was done with a brush using Citadel Colors. The shading was done with a water-based top coat and then enamel (a mixture of black and dark gray). The sensors are pasted with Lapi Tape. The eyes are also pasted, but they are recessed so they don’t shine.
The decals on both shoulders and waist are homemade. I hope they release artifact-sized decals too.
The style has been expanded by adding mobility, just like in previous works.
Compared to normal
The style always expands when mobility is added, so this time it was a style revision in the name of mobility revision with this goal in mind
The legs, waist, and head were overfilled, so I think they no longer look squashed!
The red parts of the Hi-Mega head have been reduced by adding mold.
Cheek molds have also been added. As I wrote in the production notes, the details in the center of the Hi-Mega are reproduced with brass pipes.
