Evangelion Mystery-Solving Attraction Planned in Tokyo

An immersive Evangelion mystery-solving attraction is slated to open in the Tokyo Dome City Attractions amusement park this summer. “Evangelion: Kieta Pilot no Nazo in Tokyo Dome City Attractions” (Evangelion: Mystery of the Disappearing Pilot in Tokyo Dome City Attractions) will run as part of the Tokyo Dome City entertainment complex in Tokyo’s Bunkyō ward from August 1 to September 17.

The producers of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, the third Evangelion remake film, are partnering with the Real Dasshutsu Game (realdgame; Real Escape Game) immersion event producer Scrap to create the attraction. Scrap’s events typically include hidden clues to solve a mystery and have a 9.6% clear ratio of people who successfully complete the attractions. However, the Evangelion event will be easy enough for beginners to participate, and people unfamiliar with the Evangelion franchise will also be able to enjoy the attraction.

Inspired by Monkey Punch’s Lupin III manga and anime character, Tokyo Dome City hosted the “Lupin Sansei ~ Meikyū no Wana” (Lupin III: Labyrinth Trap) interactive attraction in 2009. Visitors used personal digital assistants (PDAs) to go on a treasure hunt inside the charismatic thief’s hideout.

The Evangelion Shin Gekijō-ban Q Quickening remake film will open in Japan this fall.
