G-News: Gundam Manga by Blame’s Nihei, Gundam AGE Manga to Launch

The October issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Gundam Ace magazine is announcing on Friday that creator Tsutomu Nihei will launch a Gundam manga series this winter. Nihei created such manga as Blame!, Biomega, and Shidonia no Kishi. Tokyopop published Nihei’s 10-volume Blame! manga in North America, while Media Blasters released the net anime adaptation of Blame! in 2005.

The Micott and Basara production company (Appleseed films) announced plans for a computer-animated film version of Blame! at the Tokyo International Anime Fair in 2007, but the plans did not come to fruition before Micott and Basara filed for bankruptcy this year.

The October issue of Gundam Ace is also announcing that Hiyon Katsuragi’s manga adaptation of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam AGE anime will launch in the next issue in September. This manga adaptation is separate from the one that Shogakukan’s Corocoro Comic magazine is also serializing.
