Gunjap InterviewsHi World, Gunjap Interviews today with Anazasi Custom. Let’s Start!

[G: Gunjap]
[A: Anazasi Custom]

G – Who is Anazasi Custom in the Gunpla Modelers World? And where do you come from?

A – I’m Vanz Anazasi and I took the name Anazasi Custom for my works. Before it was Anazasi Workshop then I change it to Anazasi Custom when I was doing Custom jobs.Every Custom made is unique. I started working with Gundams since 2010, But I was a collector since 1999. I worked at SMARTY TOYS Inc. around 1997 for less than 2 years. They cater Japanese action figures and Gundam products. I came from Manila, PH. But I was really hooked up with Gundams when I worked at Tokushima then later in Tokyo, Japan from 2005 to 2010.

G – When did you start building Gunpla?

A – I’ve been a Gundam Fan Since 1997 when it was released a couple of years ago locally. It was shown on local TV back then I remember it was GUNDAM WING storyline  that I fell in love with. My Japanese brother in-law gave me the HG 1/100 Endless Waltz set. Then I get hooked on it since then.

G – And when did you made your first Custom?

A – My first  was in 2005 that I made a Custom job for an ”okyakusan” or a Client way back in Tokyo where I was living. It was for a co worker, a girl actually which she will give to her Japanese boyfriend. Then, at the Club where I was working Hosaka gave me 2 MG kits in return, an MG ZETA and an MG Gouf.

G – Do you have some inspiration for your creations?

A – Well, there are lots of inspirations I have. From different Anime movies and Mecha CGI creations that I saw on the net. I always think that You can accomplish those designs if you really have lots of patience and determination….and lots of scrap parts. 😀

Japanese animators, Artist and even those who work for wooden crafts like ”Karakuri” are my inspirations.Their dedications in their own craft are amazing. Then for Mecha designs mostly came from CGI animators.

G – After you have finished snap-fitting a model, from where do you start to mod it?

A – Well, usually I worked on the Torso area. And often times I modified the height. I always do height extensions .More like Anime-like look…skinny legs but huge Torso. The other modifications such as wings weapons or backpacks comes last.

G – What do you think about Gunpla in all the World? modelers, attitude, modelers behavior etc.

A – Modelers have different views on things. Some may look absurd to others while to him it is the most precious thing. So for me, I’d rather not point out what I saw on his works that is off or ugly.I’d rather tell him encouraging words then slowly tell him to improve on his skills. With this, You wont hurt his feelings and go mad about the hobby. Instead he will improve more each day. I have seen lots of modelers and aspiring modelers that improve in time.

G – What do you think about GBWC Event?

A – GBWC event is the only time that you can express what you have in mind using your Gundam entry as your canvass. There are lots of massive and awe inspiring builds through time and modelers are improving so fast. I lay low for a while to give way for the upcoming modelers to shine.I have won internationally before twice and won locally twice as well. And my works are often featured on  Gunpla related sites and forums.Which for me that is the greatest reward that your works are being recognized around the world.

G – Please some advices for modelers that wanna start building a gunpla for the very first time!

A – Always be careful. Have tons of patience always on your pocket.Never give up on what you started. Enjoy while your doing you love the most and never ever forget your friends who stand by you. Never ever step on someones ideals.Remember that you also came from the bottom then gradually stand up.Share the knowledge that you have to others….and don’t let your head blew up.There are lots of friendly-users on the net.Surround yourself with trustworthy friends. I guess that’s about it.

G – Have you a Website/Blog to show your Works?

A – I have a blog that is still alive today. You can find it here:
